Nokia Supernova: The Silhouette of Feminism

Nokia, being the most appealing & fascinating cellphone brand have been satisfying its costumers for decades by manufacturing complex and practical cellphones for everyone with all necessary and comprehensive features. Since two years the company’s idea of separating cellphones into dedicated series has boosted up the economy of the Finnish company itself. The major step taken in this aspect by the company was separating the dedicated true-media series for photography and core-media solutions, and we have “The Nseries”.

Another impact-making effort by the company in this aspect was designing the “XpressMusic” series for those who just love to start and kick-off their daily routine with good music. In the international market, the XpressMusic phones have satisfied the users up till an extent. Now coming onto the most newest series, Nokia Supernova; this is a dedicated series for women. Now this is no joke; Nokia Supernova is the most charismatic upcoming series by Nokia and it has been dedicated to the female-costumers worldwide. Years back the company launched Nokia Fashion Collection, then we experienced the magic of the L’Amour Collection and then few months back we saw the “Glitz ‘n’ Glamour” of The Prism Collection. The actual motive behind designing all these fashionable ranges of cellphones was quiet simple & that was to satisfy the Ladies and I guess the effort finally ends on separating a dedicated series. The first wave of the Supernova Series includes The Nokia 7510 Supernova, Nokia 7310 Supernova, Nokia 7310 Supernova & last but not the least Nokia 7210 Supernova. You might be thinking what’s so different about this series, the first thing to notice is that the multitude of colors. Every phone comes in several housing colors, so the Ladies wouldn’t argue that the color fo the phone doesn’t match with the shade of the handbag. Apart from that, the phones (limited models) have the option of changing the housing. The interface of the phones match the outer-material and housings which makes a perfect combination of Style and Standard. Now let us take a look at the basic features of the first wave.

Firstly, we have the Quad-band Nokia 7610 Supernova, this slider had a bar-design and it’s more like Nokia 6500 Slide in a new covering. The design of the phone resembles a bit with Nokia 6111 but it has a 3.2 megapixel autofocus camera (2048 x 1536 pixels) and TV Output options. It has GPRS and EDGE but no 3G capabilities. This Supernova has an enchanting feature of keypad illumination and the theme to be changed automatically with the nature of the surrounding. The features of the phone include Bluetooth 2.0 (with A2DP), microUSB and 30 mb internal memory. The manufacturer has provided a microSD card slot for the expansion of memory. It will be available in the two color editions the first is the Pristine White (with Bright Lilac and Steel Blue XpressOn covers) and the second is the Muted gray (with Steel Blue and Red covers). It might hit the market in 36th week of 2008 with a price tag of 275-280 euro.

Secondly, we have the Nokia 7510 Supernova, the clamshell is a sleek and a gorgeous one. It has the compelling feature of automatic opening mechanism (similar to the one used in Nokia 6131). The phone has two-displays the outer display is a monochrome (128 x 160 pixels). The phone has a 2 megapixel camera (1600 x 1200 pixels) with no autofocus, 16-million color QVGA main display, FM radio, Bluetooth 2.0 with A2DP and all the usual Nokia Series 40 features. The inner (main screen and keypad) have a lustrous finish and it might come. The internal memory of the phone is 25 MB and the manufacturer has provided a microSD slot for the expansion of memory upto 8 GB. The phone will be launched in four colors namely Storm Blue, Fatal Red, Emerald Green and Espresso Brown. This clamshell will become available in Q4 (38th week of 2008) and it might cost 180-210 euro.

Now coming to the third phone, Nokia 7310 Supernova; this is a major phone of the series and it has Series 40 5th Edition firmware. The phone has 2.2” QVGA display, 3.5mm Audio jack, Music player and FM radio but no 3G. The design of the phone is more like Nokia 6233 and Nokia 2630, the phone is sleek and have a tremendous engraved floral design all over the housing. It has a chromed navigation key and enameled keypad with a metallic texture. Being a monoblock, the phone is handy and have a mirrored screen (seems like a mirror when the light is off). The phone will be in the market in three different color versions: Steel Blue, Candy Pink and Wasabi Green. It might come in the market in 26th week of 2008 for about 155-160 euro.

Moving further, we have the Nokia 7210 Supernova, the last phone of the first wave of Supernova Series. It is basically the sleeker version of Nokia 7310 Supernova. It has 256 K color display. It is equipped with a 2.0 megapixel (1600 x 1200 pixels), Bluetooth 2.0 with A2DP, 30 mb of internal memory and a microSD card slot. Nokia 7210 Supernova will be available in Bubble Gum Pink and Vivid Blue from 38th week of 2008. Its estimated retail price is 110-120 euro.

It concluded that Supernova series is a complete and balanced series for women who believe that beauty and glamour is true code feminism.

Queen’s Bath Kauai

no comment

Queen’s Bath was once a well-kept secret by locals, but is now found on most maps of Kauai. In fact, it’s so popular a parking area was created for visitors. Hidden on a area of coastline in a residential neighborhood, you’d never find Queen’s bath if you didn’t know where it was located.

This little Kauai gem is named after Queen Emma, the mother of Prince Albert, which is where the Kauai city of Princeville gets its name. This interesting pool is worth the steep and sometimes treacherous trip to see it.

The path drops roughly 100 feet as you decent down to the coast. You’ll need to hike down the overgrown red dirt trail to cove.

It may look intimidating at first glance, but don’t give in because it’s actually a short hike and the rewards are certainly worth it.

Step carefully down the path as it has many tree roots and rocks to step over on the way down. The path narrows at various places so make sure you’re in good enough physical shape to grab a friend or an overhanging branch in order to maintain your balance.

On the way down, take note of the waterfall to the right, a perfect resting point to cool off on the return climb back up.

Along the path to Queen’s bath you’ll see interesting rocks in the associated stream. There are many spots along this trail to stop and take pictures of the waterfall and the stream.

Because Queen’s bath has become so popular expect to run across other people along the path.

Also, make sure you’re wearing good footwear. Bare feet or aqua socks won’t provide enough support as you walk across the lava rock to Queen’s bath.

When the trail opens at the bottom of the bluff the cove in front of you is a great spot to watch sea turtles in the surf. The reef area is coated with algae which draws the turtles to the cove.

We’ve seen turtles on every visit so keep a close eye out yourself.

From this cove, go left and carefully negotiate the lava rock roughly 250 yards to find Queen’s Bath.

Once again, make sure you have good footwear to cross the lava rock.

The views of the ocean and the rocky shoreline here are excellent and even with calm surf, you’ll see waves crash on the rocks shooting spray high into the air.

One word of warning. On Kauai the surf during the winter and through early comes crashing in and over the lava rocks, so be very careful.

To find Queen’s bath take Highway 56 (Kuhio highway) to Princeville. Turn right on Ka Haku Road right before the Princeville Shopping Center. Follow to Punahele and take a right and then another right on Kapiolani.

Park at the small area at the end of Kapiolani. Take the dirt trail, which drops about 100 feet as you descend, along the stream for about 25 yards.
